Cats Can Smell What You Ate For Breakfast!

A cat’s sense of smell is fourteen times stronger than a human’s because its nasal organ is larger. They depend on their sense of smell for survival and use it to sniff out food, mates, enemies, and to seek out his own territory, which he has previously marked. Your cat will sniff you, whether you know it or not, whenever you come home or enter a new space. They can tell who you are, what gender, where you were an hour ago and sometimes even what you had for breakfast! Some folks believe that cats can detect illnesses not only in themselves and other cats, but in humans as well.    I smell you, human

Why Dogs Make Good BFFs

For over 15,000 years dogs have worked to earn the distinction of being “man’s best friend.” Dogs have not only offered love and affection, but worked side-by-side with their human counterpart for centuries. In our modern world, dogs as pets are now our companions and most often the most loving beings we come home to. It's no wonder that there are so many benefits to having a dog, both physically and emotionally.

Why You Should Order Early

There are only a few measly kibbles/pellets left in the airtight container. No matter how hard you try to make it into a meal for its dinner, by scraping the container dry, trying to make the kibble dust look like a full kibble and making a din in the kitchen is not going to help matters. Maybe I can substitute with canned food today, you think. But you realise, as you search frantically for the canned food – or hay, if you own a small animal, there isn’t a single can in sight. What’s left of hay looks like dried up weed. The truth finally dawns upon you – your pet is running low on food, teetering on the brinks of starvation. And you forgot to order in time again.

Pet Grooming - What You Need To Know

Grooming is more than just a beauty session for your pet. Your pet’s personal groomer can play an intricate part in their health and well being and they can provide you, the owner, with a field of valuable information in regard to regular grooming & maintenance. Along with your veterinarian, a groomer can be very helpful in discovering existing health and skin problems, and may be able to work with you in resolving some of them.

Why Adopt?

If you are considering getting a pet because it is for good luck, because the puppy in the window looks so darn cute (all puppies/kittens/babies are cute, but they almost never stay like that), all your friends and relatives have one or you think that it will help you get popular with the opposite sex, then you are not ready and at risk of dumping or abandoning your pet. There is a lot more to it than just superficial satisfaction a pet brings you. Here’s a short list of what entails when getting a pet: dedication, attention, responsibility, patience, and a whole lot of time, effort and love (not forgetting money). With the above said; if you do intend to get a pet, choose to adopt instead of buying one. Here are some reasons why:

Why Does My Kitten Hide Away From Me?

Kittens are such cute furballs and are often active and playful. You may have just adopted a kitten from one of our local shelters or from our adopted charity, Love Kuching Project by The Water Dish. Usually, kittens adopted from our charity have been socialised and are fully ready to move into their new homes. However, it is quite normal for a kitten to hide away while it gets used to a new home. Kittens find this process easier if they have one of their siblings with them, which is why many people choose to adopt two cats from a litter rather than just one. Of course, this will only be if your home situation permits. Two kittens can be quite a handful and in the kittens’ best interests, it is only fair to adopt one if you can only cope with one.

Fancy A Lil’ CocoTherapy?

Coconut products have been all the rave in the United States for a long time now, because it boasts of numerous health benefits that is purely natural, without additional harsh chemicals. Coconut oil is made up of medium chained fatty acids that is found in mother’s breast milk. They are known for their ability to kill off bacteria and viruses. It is an edible fatty acid (duh) and is non-toxic to us or our pets. Feeding coconut-related products to our pets could be the best thing you could ever give your pet, and pet owners in the States swear by certain coconut treats and products that have helped their pet regain joint mobility, drastic improvements in their skin and coat, curbing obesity and best of all, coconut is so natural and palatable that pets love the taste of it.

Eight Months Old And Left To Die

He was only eight months old when he was abandoned, leashed to a lamp post, left to fend for himself, without food or water. During the day, people would walk past him without noticing or even stopping to help. Children would poke at him, call him names, and even throw stones at him. But it wasn’t as bad compared to what he had to face when night fell. In the wee hours of the morning, he was target practice for baseball, stones as big as a fist were in place of balls and hurled at full speed peppering his tiny body; wooden planks became bats striking his frail body at every angle. Chained to the lamp post and defenceless against the beatings, all he could do was to cower in his little corner and yelp in pain.

Pet Alive – Herbal & Homeopathic Remedies for Your Pets

What’s the first thing you do before purchasing any food product? The first thing that I do is to check the  ingredients list for anything that might not be safe (or fattening) for consumption; this applies to  anything that I might decide to buy for my pet. But to be honest, if aliens have names it would be named  after half of the ingredients on that list. Call me extreme but I only trust ingredients that are natural or organic. Humans and pets are similar and poor nutrition isn’t the only thing that affects us.
