Why You Should Not Buy Pets

Have you ever wondered what happens to that puppy in the pet shop if it does not get sold to a new home? Or where your cute little puppy came from?

Baby or Pet? Is There Room For Both?

Are you having a new baby but unsure how your pet will react? Having a baby is one of the most exciting times of life and will involve a big adjustment for everyone in the household, even your pets. Instead of abandoning your pet just because you think it is "too much hassle to cope with a dog AND a baby", or "my dog is aggressive and may harm my child", why not keep both with these tips? After all, a pet is a life too, just like a child's.

A Present For You, My Human!

Cats are instinctive hunters. Killing prey is a natural instinct since the wild/primitive days when cats were not yet domesticated. After all, that was how they survived in the wild. These days, household cats hunt not because they are hungry, but more for the excitement. Even if you keep your cat indoors in sunny Singapore, they are still able to kill something, whether you live in a high-rise apartment or a landed home.   By bringing dead prey into the home, leaving it at the door step or at your feet, your cat is actually trying to please you...

Rules For Cats Who Have A House To Run

Rule Number One:   I. DOORS: Do not allow closed doors in any room. To get a door opened, stand on hind legs and scratch the frame. You may also reach under the door and pull clothing towards you; silks get the quickest reaction. Once door is opened, it is not necessary to use it. After you have ordered an “outside” door opened, stand halfway in and out and think about several things. This is particularly important during very cold weather, when it’s raining, or during the height of the mosquito season. Swinging doors must be avoided at all costs.

Your Dog Wants You To Know...

IF your dog could talk, here are some of most important things he/she would like to tell you…

A cat’s sense of smell is fourteen times stronger than a human’s because its nasal organ is larger. They depend on their sense of smell for survival and use it to sniff out food, mates, enemies, and to seek out his own territory, which he has previously marked. Your cat will sniff you, whether you know it or not, whenever you come home or enter a new space. They can tell who you are, what gender, where you were an hour ago and sometimes even what you had for breakfast! Some folks believe that cats can detect illnesses not only in themselves and other cats, but in humans as well.    I smell you, human

Why Dogs Make Good BFFs

For over 15,000 years dogs have worked to earn the distinction of being “man’s best friend.” Dogs have not only offered love and affection, but worked side-by-side with their human counterpart for centuries. In our modern world, dogs as pets are now our companions and most often the most loving beings we come home to. It's no wonder that there are so many benefits to having a dog, both physically and emotionally.

Eight Months Old And Left To Die

He was only eight months old when he was abandoned, leashed to a lamp post, left to fend for himself, without food or water. During the day, people would walk past him without noticing or even stopping to help. Children would poke at him, call him names, and even throw stones at him. But it wasn’t as bad compared to what he had to face when night fell. In the wee hours of the morning, he was target practice for baseball, stones as big as a fist were in place of balls and hurled at full speed peppering his tiny body; wooden planks became bats striking his frail body at every angle. Chained to the lamp post and defenceless against the beatings, all he could do was to cower in his little corner and yelp in pain.
